Cast Members & Lighting Designer
Maria T. Eldridge is a native of Washington D.C. and a graduate of Duke Ellington School of the Arts, where she majored in dance. She has also studied at the Alvin Ailey Dance Theater and the Dance Theater of Harlem School. Maria continued her education at Smith College and received an MFA in acting from Brandeis University. Her past credits include Eleemosynary, The Recruiting Officer, Fathers and Sons, Beirut, and Colored People's Times.She has also appeared in a couple of readings at the Vineyard Theatre and In a music video,"Girlfriend Lost and Found". Maria would like to thank her family and friends for all their love, support, and guidance. Praise and discover the God in each of us.
Miss Melanie Vesey's appeared in True Confessions for the entire 1997 run and enjoyed every scantily clad minute. She appeared in Law and Order and can currently be seen as the cranky female figure in a Budweiser commercial. Her most exciting news is being cast as Carol Kaufman in the upcoming film, "Man On The Moon" starring Jim Carrey, about the late Andy Kaufman. It will be directed by Milos Forman (People vs. Larry Flint, One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest). Melanie loves True Confessions and it has been an important inspiriation in writing her own one woman show. MELANIE VESEY
Lighting Design
Donalee Katz's (lighting design) recent projects include domestic and European productions of Lisa Giobbi Movement Theatre's Fallen Angels, Hartel Dance, Daniel Ezralow and an Evening of Solo duets. Donalee is currently Producton Manager for Taylor 2. She was recently Company Manager for Dance Theatre of Harlem, and also designed the lighting for the new ballet, Crossing Over, which premierd at Kennedy Center Opera House. She has toured with Urban Bushwomen as techinical director and one of their designers. She has also toured as designer/company manager for Columbia Artist's Management with Moscow Balalaikas, Malinki Circus, and the Druzda Soviet Dancers. Donalee has enjoyed being part of the True Confessions family.
